Last few months of PUBLIC RELATIONS!

We are near the end of our 12 month program, of the FNTI Public Relations program. As trail blaizers of this course there are seven of us who have survived the long drives the weeks away from home, the weather and the unfortunate death of one of the most inspirational instructors Brant Bardy. Being a student of this program has been a life changing experience as far as the education and networking goes but also as friendships with my classmates developed and the connections made between us all we were all welcomed into each others territories and homes. Public Relations has been confusing for myself because of everything it consists of, but im sure i will graduate with honors LOL I will miss everyone thats for sure. The next two months will be fun and sad. I will keep my blog up to date now, thank you all for being apart of my education, through laughter, friendship your presence has help me to continue to learn and grow.

Nano or NONO!!

World Events; I take interest in things overseas that could possibly effect us here in North America. Its good to know whats happening even if its on the other side of the world. On my search through world events I came across the new Nano car in India. "For many, the Nano has become a symbol of hope and freedom" for a country that relize on motorcylces, scooters and bikes and can only dream of one day owning a automoblie, in a country where gross domestic product per person is only US$2,900 a year, every worker will eventually be able to afford their own four wheels and a roof. "Certainly the present economic situation makes it more relevant to the buying public," company chairman Ratan Tata said. there is a downside to this very inexpensive Nano it does not have any safety features which would make it hard to become availible in North America. The car has just one windshield wiper, tubeless tires, and none of the safety features like airbags and antilock brakes standard in other models. It has a 623-cc, 2-cylinder engine that cranks out about 30 horsepower. The car maybe be suitable for such countrys overseas but for brittan and North America its the low end.Tata bought luxury automakers Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Co. last year for US$2.4-billion. The company borrowed to fund the purchase and is seeking to refinance the loan as sales of its bread-and-butter trucks and buses fall.
The Stakeholders are Tata and the country of india also anyother consumer due to the safety features and the enviorment.

Where did the News GO!!

"Local broadcasters play a valuable role in our communities. They tell our stories. They build our identity. I read this article about CTVglobemedia and the troubles facing there Finacal situations which in fact doesnt hurt the media and there employees but all of canada. The stake holders in this situation is everyone from CBC to Rogers Cable."Not unlike any other business, the issue that we face right now is that the recessionary level of revenues has some of our borrowers nervous," Mr. Douglas said. The PR situation in this story is why A-Channel was not avalible for viewers the stake holders are all multimedia programs as well as North America. I think the soulution to charge a fee for boardcasting these news channles is a excellent idea.

More items added as peanut recall expands

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency on Thursday said two more products had been recalled due to concerns they contained salmonella-contaminated peanuts. The plant owned by the Peanut Coroparation of America in blakley, GA is under investagation after contamanated product was shipped out. over 666 illness have been reported and 9 deaths in the US nothing reported in Canada said the CFIA.

Eating food contaminated with salmonella may cause salmonellosis which could cause serious and sometimes deadly infections in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, the agency said. The stake holders in this outbreak are companys that have peanut oils or peanuts in their product such as peanut butter companys or chocolate bar companys etc, which leads to the consumor. This is the second mass recall for this company. The CFIA is telling consumers to throw away the goods. What a waste of money!!!!!

My Points of the brawl

I picked this article because its missing a quote or storie from the boy who cracked his skull and any information there family might have, RCMP said Wednesday."Lewisporte RCMP said they had assigned an officer to investigate whether criminal charges should be laid in the Feb. 14 brawl which sent a player to hospital for surgery". I found this interesting considering the boys play are aged 15-17 why was the fight not stopped? or could the parents been an influence in the brawl? The exhibition midget hockey game between the Fogo Island Hawks and the Lewisporte Sea Hawks in Lewisporte ended with an explosion of fists involving players on both sides. Both teams have been suspended until Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador concludes an investigation of the incident, said Craig Tulk, the organization's executive director."This is a concern for us and the situation of the injury," said Mr. Tulk. "We are going to have to seriously look at this as it relates to discipline." the oraganization is the hockey league in newfoundland there audience is the families, community and friends of the players from both teams. since both teams have been suspended they teams are the ones effected. The boy who was hurt was directly effected.

RCMP investigates hockey brawl after player, 17, cracks skull

Canwest News Service Published: Wednesday, February 25, 2009

LEWISPORTE, N.L. -- A major hockey brawl in Lewisporte, N.L., that left a 17-year-old player with a cracked skull has triggered a criminal investigation, RCMP said Wednesday.
Lewisporte RCMP said they had assigned an officer to investigate whether criminal charges should be laid in the Feb. 14 brawl which sent a player to hospital for surgery.
The exhibition midget hockey game between the Fogo Island Hawks and the Lewisporte Sea Hawks in Lewisporte ended with an explosion of fists involving players on both sides. Both teams have been suspended until Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador concludes an investigation of the incident, said Craig Tulk, the organization's executive director.
"This is a concern for us and the situation of the injury," said Mr. Tulk. "We are going to have to seriously look at this as it relates to discipline."
The injured Fogo Island player had multiple fractures of his skull that required metal plates to be inserted, said Mr. Tulk.
Mr. Tulk said this was the first time a team has been suspended for fighting since his organization instituted automatic suspensions for teams involved in after-game, on-ice brawls two years ago.
Midget level hockey involves players aged 15 to 17.
Lewisporte is about 395 kilometres north of St. John's.
